Description
What is Exair super air knife?
The Exair Super Air Knife is the latest generation of our air curtain designed to drastically reduce compressed air consumption and noise levels in cooling, cleaning, and blow-off operations. The unit creates a powerful laminar airflow curtain along its entire length.
Noisy blow-off operations with homemade solutions like perforated pipes or blowers become a mere whisper when replaced with the Exair Super Air Curtain. Even at high pressures like 80 psig (5.5 BAR), the noise level is surprisingly low, at just 69 dBA for most applications.
The knife has an air amplification ratio of 40:1, meaning 40 parts of atmospheric air are drawn into the action point for every part of compressed air used.

How does the Exair air knife work?
Compressed air enters through an inlet (1️⃣) into a chamber inside the Super Air Knife. The flow is directed toward a precision slotted orifice. The main airflow exits the thin slot of the nozzle (2️⃣), which follows a surface that directs the airflow in a perfect straight line. This creates a uniform sheet of air along the length of the Super Air Knife. Speed loss is minimized and force is optimized, with ambient air (3️⃣) being pulled into the primary airflow at a 40:1 amplification ratio. The result is a well-defined laminar airflow sheet with strong blowing force that’s unaffected by wind.
