Timer Drains
Airtec’s recommended timer drains are an accessible and simple solution for managing condensate (a mixture of excess moisture and oil) within the compressed air system. Timer drains are perfect for removal of condensate at regular intervals and can be set to drain as frequently as needed, leading to significant improvement in compressed air quality. We stock many of the leading brands, we offer expert care for setup and installation.
Creating clean, dry air for your compressor is one of the best ways to ensure its reliability as well as efficient air production. One of the most common outside contaminants within air compressors occurs when excess moisture mixes with oil and creates condensate. Condensate can collect and be responsible for:
- Buildup of rust and increased wear to moving parts within the compression system
- Damage to downstream components and processes
Because condensate can cause damage to your air compression system, Airtec designs custom solutions to help you best manage the presence of condensate within your system, and our timer drains are an accessible and simple solution. Timer drains are perfect for removal of condensate at regular intervals and can be set to drain as frequently as needed. We stock many of the leading brands and can offer our expert care in set-up and installation.
Electric Operated Condensate Drains
Posi-Drain
The Posi-Drain is a premium timer drain based on the remarkable Posi Valve. The timer initiates a drain cycle by energizing a magnet coil that slides up the seal assembly and creates a straight through flow path for condensate. This drain prevents clogging from oil and water in compressed air systems. Ideal for filters, air receivers, air dryers, separators and aftercoolers.
dDVT720 Series – Timer Drain
This drain is compact, removes condensates from compressed air systems, and is ideal for a range of applications. The drain with timer module initiates a drain cycle by energizing the valve coil that opens the valve and allows the condensate to drain. At the end of the cycle, the coil is de-energized and the valve is spring-returned to the closed position.
Sure-Drain
This robust drain removes condensate from compressed air systems. Ideal for use with filters, air receivers, air dryers, separators and aftercoolers. The timer initiates a drain cycle by energizing the valve coil that opens the valve and allows the condensate to drain. When the timer times-out, the coil is de-energized and the valve is spring-returned to the closed position.
BVD Series – Ball Valve Drains
The BVD Series is a heavy duty condensate or process timer drain consisting of a gear-motor operated ball valve with a straight-through flow path design. This anti-clogging ball valve is made for higher airflow and removes condensate from compressed air systems. Ideal for use with filters, air receivers, air dryers, separators and aftercoolers.
BVA Series – Ball Valve Drains
The BVA Series is a heavy duty condensate or process drain consisting of a gear-motor operated ball valve. A drain cycle is initiated externally by signal from a timer, PLC, or simple push button. This anti-clogging ball valve is made for higher airflow and removes condensate from compressed air systems. Ideal for use with filters, air receivers, air dryers, separators and aftercoolers.
Economical and Reliable Removal of Condensate
Some of the benefits of a timer drain:
- Consistent removal of condensate from your air compression system
- Easily customized to the interval needed to perform at maximum efficiency
- Save more energy than they use
Though drains use some energy to function, timer drains end up saving you a great deal of energy. By using a drain, you can prevent the pressure drops and irregular performance found in systems that don’t use drains of any type. Timer drains can also help you save time by removing the need to regularly empty condensate from your system by hand.
If you are unsure of how to properly set your timer drain, we at Airtec can help. As experts in air compression systems, we can provide the insight needed to set timer drains for any system. If your timer drain requires a seasonal adjustment, as most do, we can help with that as well. Airtec is only a phone call away.
Regardless of the size of your system, Airtec can make a condensate management solution tailored to your needs. We work hard to bring efficiency to air compression systems, and effective condensate management is a great way of doing that. Call or email us and let us help you improve the performance of your system.
