How the S130-Ambient Works

1. Power On and Initial Purge
When powered on, the S130-Ambient performs a 5-minute purge to eliminate residual particles from the system. This ensures accurate measurements from the start.
2. Start of Sampling
After the purge, it begins taking air samples every minute, analyzing the number of particles in different sizes (0.3, 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 µm depending on the model).
3. Data Accumulation and Updating
During the first 30 minutes, the device accumulates sample values to obtain a reliable average.
Subsequently, the accumulated values are updated every minute, removing the oldest data and adding new data, always keeping information up to date.
4. Display and Alerts
Results can be viewed on the optional integrated display, an external SUTO display, or through the service software.
LED indicators and alarms allow quick identification of required maintenance or when particle thresholds are exceeded.
1. Signals and Connectivity
The S130-Ambient offers multiple data output options for easy integration into your monitoring system. It includes 4–20 mA analog output, RS-485 digital output with Modbus/RTU, and an alarm relay (NO, 32 VDC / 200 mA). This allows both data logging and automatic alerts when particle thresholds are exceeded, enabling continuous supervision without constant manual intervention.
2. Operating Conditions and Robustness
The device is designed for demanding industrial environments. Its IP65 enclosure protects against dust and splashes and can operate at temperatures from +10 to +40 °C with relative humidity below 90% without condensation. This ensures reliable measurements even under challenging working conditions.
3. Maintenance and Calibration
To maintain accuracy, annual calibration is recommended, although the sensor is factory-calibrated. Cleaning is simple and only requires a damp cloth; isopropyl alcohol should never be used on the display. This preventive maintenance helps extend the device’s lifespan and ensures reliable measurements over time.
